Our experience transverses a variety of industries, including financial services, technology, life sciences, insurance, and energy, and we have handled matters before a wide range of federal and state government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice and its various U.S. Attorney’s Offices, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Treasury Department (FinCEN and OFAC), the Commerce Department (BIS), state attorneys general, local district attorneys, federal and state banking regulators (Federal Reserve, OCC, NY DFS), and the enforcement arms of multilateral banks (the World Bank). We have managed key engagements in just about every significant federal government enforcement initiative in recent years, and members of our team have worked on matters across the globe, including throughout Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, where we have frequently and effectively partnered with local counsel when necessary. We also pride ourselves on staying current with relevant technology and on leveraging technological advances to deliver efficient services to our clients.
The Treanor Law Firm was founded and is led by Tim Treanor who has a well-known track record of success as a trial lawyer, litigator, investigator, negotiator, advocate, and criminal defense attorney. Tim spent nearly seventeen years as a partner at a top ten global law firm, co-leading its global white collar criminal defense and investigations practice and building one of the most prominent and successful corporate white collar practices in the world. Prior to that, he served for almost a decade as a federal prosecutor and senior unit supervisor in the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York where he led successful trial teams in some of the Office’s most significant and complex criminal prosecutions during his tenure. His latest endeavor—the Treanor Law Firm—was established to afford him greater flexibility in the selection of clients, to allow him to pursue innovative civil litigation, and so that he can focus time on interesting and impactful matters and on delivering excellence in service to clients every minute of the day.
